Course Description
For over 3 decades, Dr. Pizzorno has been teaching students, doctors and consumers all over the world that a better approach to health and wellness is to focus on the person rather than the disease. An effective way to do this is by improving the function of each unique person's physiological functions. There are 12 key areas of focus: Optimal nutrition and digestion, Toxin avoidance and effective detoxification, Strong, accurate immune system, Balanced inflammatory function, Well-regulated endocrine control, Sensitive and stable insulin and sugar, Strong musculoskeletal system, Ageless neurological system, Flowing cardiovascular system, Abundant energy production, Rapid regeneration/Longevity, and Living in harmony with the spirit/life-force. Dysfunctions in these key physiological systems underlie virtually all diseases. Dysfunctions can arise due to genetics, nutritional deficiencies and excesses, environmental toxin exposures and lifestyle behavior. Fortunately, according to a large body of research, most of the causes of dysfunction can be discovered and corrected. This class will briefly review the role of the physiological systems in health, what happens when they are not working properly and how to restore normal function.
